The Halfblood King, Book One
Aleron’s world turns upside down during a journey to the capital, when a mishap reveals that the simple country boy is heir to the thousand-year vacant throne of the Sudean kingdom, that he is a halfblood, a human/elf mix nearly certain to grow into a powerful sorcerer, and his grandfather is not the retired human soldier he pretended, but really a nine-thousand-year-old elvish sorcerer known from legend and thought dead for four thousand years. Aleron must first reconcile himself with a destiny that he never wanted but was ordained of an ancient prophecy. Later, his betrothed abducted for a political pawn, he must use his now formidable abilities to rescue his love from her enemy captors, but at what price?
Sign of the White Raven, Book Two
Though safe, for the moment, Aleron and his companions find themselves stranded in Kolixtla, capital city of Sudea’s fiercest enemy. They managed to rescue his betrothed, Eilowyn, daughter to the Steward of Sudea but at the cost of Aleron’s magical abilities. Now, the group must rely on their wits, and find their way home across half a continent. Meanwhile, Zormat, King of Arkus and son of the Nameless One journeys to recover Zadehmal, his father’s weapon of power, hidden away for over four millennia. Will the Sudeans make it home, and if so, be in time to prepare the kingdom and the world for what seems inevitable, the Adversary walking free upon Aertu once again? Will Aleron regain his powers in time to face the Nameless God in the battle sure to come, and how will new revelations about his ancestry factor into the conflict?
The Chronicles of Aertu is my epic fantasy series that I began working on in 2010. I published the first two volumes in February and December of 2014. I began writing the third volume in 2015 but became sidetracked by other issues, the foremost of which was my desire to rewrite and expand volume one, The Halfblood King.
A military relocation and a couple of home renovations later, I finally published the second edition of The Halfblood King in March 2023, expanded by eight new chapters, followed in June by a revised second edition of volume two, Sign of the White Raven. Volume two did not require the level of revision I thought necessary for the first volume, though I did expand it a bit, adding one more chapter and fleshing out some of the others
I hope that you have fun in the world that I truly enjoyed creating.
Best regards,
Julian

I am looking forward to the release of the third book! I found you here in search of information. I was happy enough with the first book and would much prefer the release of the third before a revised copy of the first! Just my opinion. 😄.
