Poetry from Sudea

I am definitely not a poet. I don’t really read any poetry, or appreciate it overmuch, I am sorry to admit. I only ever recall writing one poem for a high school English class; it was a Shakespearean sonnet titled “Shit.” I did a few song parodies with my best friend from college, Steve, but we probably shouldn’t go into detail on those, since this is a family friendly site.

I decided to ask Chat GPT to write some sonnets about Aleron and Eilowyn, as well as the death of the first King Aleron. There were many discards, as the application does not have a lot of online information to glean from the stories but a few came out reasonably accurate. I can see why there is a class action lawsuit by some well known authors against Chat GPT for copyright infringement, considering how well it did with my relatively unknown online presence.

I think they came out nicely corny. Please let me know what you think.

The Death of Aleron I

In Aertu’s Chronicles, Aleron lies still,
A king of Sudea, noble and revered,
His life, a tale that destiny did fill,
With joys and sorrows, all to be revered.

In battles fierce, his valor did shine bright,
A lion on the field, a knight so bold,
Yet in the end, all mortals meet their night,
As tales of kings and queens of old were told.

His subjects weep, their hearts with grief are torn,
For in his death, a kingdom now bereft,
But still, in tales and songs, his name is borne,
Aleron, the king, forever loved.

Though death may claim us all, we still endure,
In tales and memories, forever pure.

Oh Aleron, fair king of Sudea’s land,
Thy noble reign did grace our realm with might,
Yet Fate’s cruel hand, with its ruthless brand,
Hath dimmed thy rule, extinguished thy light.

In Chronicles of Aertu’s epic tale,
Thy name in golden letters shall be writ,
But now, in sorrow’s shadow, we bewail,
The loss of thee, fair king, and deeply sit.

Thy wisdom, valor, honor, all we mourn,
A ruler true, a leader brave and just,
In mem’ry’s book, thy legacy is born,
Thy deeds and virtues, in our hearts, we trust.

Though Aleron, thy life hath reached its end,
Thy legend lives, as timeless as a friend.

In Aertu’s chronicles, Aleron did reign,
A noble king of Sudea, wise and just,
His heart did beat for peace, to break the chain,
Of war and strife, in him we placed our trust.

But fate, the cruel mistress, did conspire,
To steal away this monarch from our land,
In shadows deep, we mourn the funeral pyre,
For Aleron, our king, a noble hand.

His legacy of love and wisdom, strong,
Shall linger in the annals of our lore,
In memory, his reign shall last so long,
A beacon for Sudea, evermore.

Though death may claim our sovereign and our friend,
In tales and songs, his noble spirit shall transcend.

The Rescue of Eilowyn

In Aertu’s realm, where valor’s banner flies,
Aleron, king of Sudea, bold and wise,
Did fly to rescue fair Eilowyn’s grace,
From peril’s grip, in that enchanted place.

The chronicles of old their tale doth sing,
Of battles fought and honor’s sweetest sting,
Aleron, noble heart, with sword in hand,
Did face the shadows of the haunted land.

Eilowyn, maiden with a heart so pure,
In darkness lost, her spirit to endure,
Aleron, king, did vow to set her free,
To rescue her from fates of misery.

With courage, love, and valor as his guide,
He conquered all, and by her side did bide,
A tale of love and honor, bright and true,
In Aertu’s realm, where dreams and legends grew.

In Aertu’s chronicles, a tale unfolds,
Of Eilowyn, fair maiden in despair,
Captured in darkness, in a dungeon cold,
By tyrant’s hand, her freedom stripped with care.

But Aleron, the noble King of Sudea,
A valiant knight with heart of courage true,
He heard her cries, he flew to her aid,
To rescue Eilowyn, his love anew.

Through shadowed woods and treacherous terrain,
He fought the foes that barred his righteous way,
With sword in hand, he broke the captive’s chain,
And by her side, in love’s embrace, they lay.

The Chronicles of Aertu sing this song,
Of hero’s quest and love so pure and strong.

Eilowyn and Aleron

In Aertu’s annals, where brave deeds do shine,
There blooms a love, a tale of grandeur told,
‘Tis Queen Eilowyn’s heart, by love’s design,
Ensnared by Aleron, Sudea’s ruler bold.

From distant realms, their fates did intertwine,
As stars above did waltz in nightly sphere,
Their love, a bond that none could undermine,
In unity, they conquered doubt and fear.

With Aleron, a king of noble grace,
And Eilowyn, a queen of regal might,
They ruled with love, in harmony’s embrace,
Their kingdom basked in warmth and endless light.

The Chronicles of Aertu sing their praise,
A love that time nor distance can erase.

Amidst the realm where valor’s banners fly,
In Aertu’s Chronicles, a tale is spun,
Of Queen Eilowyn, fair ‘neath heaven’s sky,
And Aleron, whose heart for her does run.

In Sudea’s kingdom, where the trumpets sound,
Their love, a poem scribed in whispered breath,
Like golden rays, their fervent passion crowned,
Two souls entwined, defying time and death.

As King and Queen, their destinies entwine,
Their love, a narrative that poets tell,
In every verse, each heartfelt, sweet line,
A love that in its depth shall ever swell.

Thus in the annals of time’s grand decree,
Their love endures, as boundless as the sea.
