Finding myself recently unemployed (with a generous bonus and severance package, so don’t worry too much) I will forgo my usual four-day-a-week routine of waking between 0245 and 0300, showering, making the morning yerba mate, tossing my lunch in a bag, hugging the dogs, and rushing off to work by 0410.
Lately, I wake about 0400, make the yerba mate, hug the dogs, put away the dishes in the dishwasher as I wait on the mate, wake my wife when it’s ready, go sit on the couch with the dogs, do NYT puzzles with my wife as we watch the news, and start looking through job postings when she gets ready for work. Occasionally, I’ll work on my books as well.
I could get used to this but eventually, I’ll need to get a real job again.
Best regards,
Julian E Benoit
